SMX Munich Recap

After a few days in Munich yesterday I arrived back at home. Time to finally connect to the back also looks at the SMX Munich.

On day 2 I had the keynote speech by Stefan Weitz (Bing) very interested … I was 9 but then clock too early. The following session was then for me not so promising, I am then in accordance with the second day, only with "technical SEO: HTML5" entered. Which has provided an interesting insight. HTML5, it is well to observe and "get to know slowly." It urges, however, probably for many things not necessarily because it needs for older browsers but for now it still workarounds. It also followed the blog really good session with partner Bob Rains and Rand Fishkin. While technology was the motto VS. Creativity, but both seemed to be still very much value to place on creativity. Then it was time for me to "site architecture for SEO professionals." Overall, the SMX Munich has paid off completely in 2011. The level was at least in the sessions I attended consistently good. Of course, there was even less exciting next-bringing new speakers. A real "non-starter" but I have not experienced.

A few thoughts about Google +

Following my article "Some thoughts on Google +1" from the March day a few thoughts about Google +. Both belong together and ultimately so much.

+ Google should probably tell you at this point any more. This was written in the last few days, plenty. Made very interesting, this mindmap. Google is currently playing "shortage". Currently, however, are likely to have several hundred thousand users on the platform romp. + Google is certainly not perfect but a surprisingly good start. Of course, you also benefit from a few disappointments, like Buzz and wave. The expectations of Google was certainly a tad more subdued since.

I missed the visible value to the user. With the tweet button I publish something on Twitter. The Like Button on Facebook. But the +1 button had no direct tangible benefit. Even if Google + is experiencing a little hype. It is not so easy to overwhelm Facebook now. Facebook is not as easy as StudiVZ let out of the market. Both sides have a product that can be seen and Facebook already has many users (over 700 million) consider themselves. In Germany, many are only just arriving on Facebook, and probably only partially ready to move immediately with the caravan. It now appears likely, however, at once, that Facebook will not be left alone, the dominant social network. Both sides should encourage each other to a better and deliver customer-friendly product.
